Shining Wife Moment
So, after MUCH studying and anticipation and anxiety, Tyler was ready to take the P.E. exam (Professional Engineer exam...like the Bar exam for engineers) on Saturday, October 24. Unfortunately, when he arrived at the testing center, he found out that he'd misread the date and the exam had been the day before. Now we have to wait another SIX months until he can take the exam. ARGH! It's not a tragedy...he's still gainfully employed with a great company. It just means that the guaranteed raise he would've received upon passing the P.E. is delayed yet again (he was going to take the exam LAST April but a former boss didn't turn in some required paperwork in time, so it had been delayed until this October). Sigh. Here's where the Shining Wife Moment comes in: Tyler felt SICK when he realized that he'd mixed up the dates. He drove back home and sat in our driveway for an hour wondering how he was going to tell me and face my sure-to-be-horrible wrath. But, when he did tell me, I was blessed with only concern for him. Even I was surprised! :) I would expect me to be furious! After all the late nights of studying (which were especially hard this last six weeks because we got a new puppy)! But I just ache for my man. He has to study all over again and worry all over again. Sigh. I told him to take a month off and not even THINK about the P.E. until after Thanksgiving. I'm so lucky to be married to Tyler. He works so hard for his girls (and puppy "son") and puts up with a multitude of mental breakdowns on my part. He loves me regardless and is the voice of common sense amongst the many voices in my head.
