On Monday we went to Beluga Point, a rocky outcrop along the Seward Highway that is about 15 minutes from our house. It was a little colder that day than I would like, but still pleasant and completely gorgeous.

Olly, diving into the water after a thrown rock, before he realized how very cold the water is!

Olly hightailing it to shore. We called it his "Alaskan baptism". After that, he'd only venture out to where the water just barely covered his paws. It was also funny watching him take a drink of the water and then shake his head in distaste when he tasted the salt.

Skipping rocks.

Me and my Maia.

Beluga Point, as seen from the Seward Highway.

Looking for wildlife from the turnout parking area. We eventually turned the telescopes around 180 degrees and spotted four Dall Sheep on the cliffs there.

My Maddie-bug.

Maia, in her new raincoat. She's a master at posing for pictures!

Another master poser, Maddie, also in her new raincoat.

My beautiful Maia!

Beautiful, eh?

Maddie said she wanted to be an explorer, like Dora, so here's a shot of them exploring.
Oohh I need to go do that with my kiddos! How fun!
